Let’s Talk

What This Workshop Is

A test drive of the vehicle — and the keys to take it home.

The mocktail is just the vehicle. Connection is the destination. In this workshop you’ll experience both sides: what it feels like to be a guest at a Mocktails & Meet-up — and exactly how to run one for your own community.

1

You experience it first

We make three mocktails together. You feel the warmth, the energy, the ease of it — before we teach a single thing.

2

You learn the framework

We unpack exactly why it works and how to replicate it — for members you already have and new supporters you want to attract.

3

You leave ready to run it

Complete toolkit in hand. First session already planned. No waiting, no excuses — just do it.

“The mocktail is just the vehicle.
Connection is the destination.”
— The Mocktails & Meet-ups philosophy

One Format. Two Powerful Uses.

The same event does two jobs at once.

You’ll learn to use Mocktails & Meet-ups for both — deepening loyalty with the community you have, and opening the door to people who haven’t joined yet.

Use 1 · Existing Members

Deepen the Relationship

Knowing your cause isn’t the same as belonging to it. A regular, low-stakes gathering creates shared experiences that turn donors into champions.

  • Turns passive email recipients into active community members
  • Creates a rhythm of anticipation — they look forward to hearing from you
  • Builds the trust that makes future asks feel completely natural
  • Moves supporters from one-off giving to consistent, loyal support
Use 2 · New Supporters

Open the Door to New People

A mocktail session is low-stakes enough that people say yes before they’re fully committed to your cause. It does the warming-up work so your welcome sequence can do the rest.

  • Friends of members, local contacts, curious newcomers — all welcome
  • No hard sell, no agenda beyond a genuinely good time
  • Feeds new faces into your welcome sequence naturally
  • Grows your “friends of” community month by month

“Whether it’s your 10th member or your very first — the format works exactly the same way.

Is This For You?

Right for some. Not for everyone.

This workshop is intentionally specific. Here’s how to know if it’s the right fit right now.

✓ This is for you if…

You run or work for a nonprofit and want a simple, repeatable community event format

You’ve built or are building a “friends of” community and want to deepen those relationships

You’re tired of sending emails into the void and want supporters to look forward to hearing from you

You want a natural, no-hard-sell way to bring new people into your community

You want practical tools you can use immediately — not just ideas and inspiration

✗ This isn’t for you if…

You’re looking for a large-scale events strategy — this is intentionally small, simple, and repeatable

You want a one-size-fits-all event with no community-building strategy behind it

You’re expecting a quick fundraising fix — this is a long-game relationship strategy

You’re not willing to actually make a drink — the live element is the whole point

“If people have something to look forward to, they’ll come.
If they come, they’ll connect. If they connect, they’ll stay.
And when they stay, everything else becomes easier.

Nonprofit Community Strategist

I help small and mid-size nonprofits build the kind of communities people don’t want to leave. Not through flashy campaigns or big budgets — but through consistent, human moments that make supporters feel like they genuinely belong.

Mocktails & Meet-ups was born from a simple observation: most organisations are great at getting supporters, and terrible at keeping them. This workshop gives you the tools to change that — starting with one evening, one shared drink, and one community that keeps showing up.

Questions

The things people usually ask.

Do I need any event-running experience to get value from this?

+

Not at all. The workshop is designed so that anyone can run a Mocktails & Meet-up — whether you’ve hosted a hundred events or never organised anything in your life. That’s what the toolkit is for.

What do I need for the virtual session?

+

A laptop or tablet for Zoom, and about 5 ingredients per mocktail — all supermarket-friendly, nothing unusual. The full shopping list is sent as soon as you register, so you’ll have plenty of time to grab everything before the session.

Is this only useful if I already have a community?

+

No. Whether you have 200 members or you’re just getting started, this workshop is valuable. You’ll learn both how to deepen existing relationships and how to use the format to bring new people in from scratch.

Why mocktails and not something else?

+

No alcohol barrier means everyone participates equally — regardless of health, cultural, religious, or personal reasons. They’re colourful, easy to make, and visually joyful. The activity creates a natural shared moment without anyone feeling excluded or uncomfortable.

How quickly can I run my first session after the workshop?

+

Most people run their first session within 2–4 weeks. By the end of the workshop you’ll have a date set, an invitation drafted, and a recipe chosen. The tools are specifically designed to eliminate the “where do I even start” problem.

What’s a discovery call and who is it for?

+

It’s a free, no-pressure 20-minute conversation for organisations with larger teams or specific situations they’d like to discuss before booking. We’ll figure out whether a private bespoke session makes more sense than the public workshop. No obligation whatsoever.

Give your community
something to look forward to.

Two sessions. Two formats. One methodology that changes how your community shows up — choose the date that works for you and let’s make something together.
